Dymock Poets Archive & Study Centre

The University of Gloucestershire has a major archive to promote interest in the work of the Dymock Poets and to provide an important resource for those engaged in cultural, historical and literary research. The archive contains:

• Manuscripts and first editions of the writings of Lascelles Abercrombie presented to the College by his family
• A comprehensive collection of the works of Edward Thomas, together with critical and biographical materials purchased from the estate of the late Alan Hancox
• Works, photographs and personal ephemera donated by the family of Wilfrid Gibson
• Manuscripts, first editions and ephemera from the family of Eleanor Farjeon
• An extensive collection of editions and critical works covering the career of Robert Frost, some donated by his grand-daughter, Lesley Lee Francis
• A major collection of the works of John Drinkwater, including many signed first editions
• A wide selection of editions and critical works covering the writings of the Dymock Poets
• Works relating to other Gloucestershire and Herefordshire poets of the period and leading figures of the Georgian Poetry Movement
• Scholarly papers, journals and bibliographies relating to the Dymock poets
• Newsletters, correspondence and publicity material from two literary societies, the Friends of the Dymock Poets and the Edward Thomas Fellowship
• Multimedia resources, including: audio, video and CD-ROM

The Archive & Study Centre has also published occasional papers on each of the Dymock poets. Information on these can be found in the Bibliography on this site.
